Walter Ring could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Luke Faith made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Reg Crane got free with Luke Faith in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Quentin Coleman lost his temper 13 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 12th minute of the game. One of ZEIG AFC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Pondersbridge FC:s goal. Pondersbridge FC's Reg Crane got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 20th minute, Brian Milligan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ashley Beasley kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Ashley Beasley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Kasey Nicholls tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luke Faith was a little too slow when Walter Ring got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 31st minute. The score was now 2-0. Walter Ring could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Luke Faith made a huge save. Ashley Beasley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kasey Nicholls having to interfere. Kasey Maxwell charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kasey Maxwell the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, ZEIG AFC's Kasey Maxwell got a free kick in the 39th minute. Conal Gibbons was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 43rd minute. Pondersbridge FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Tom Lee-Barrett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Pondersbridge FC getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Hayden Mullan hit a great ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Conal Gibbons made a kick off. When Peter Jenkins came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the ZEIG AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Peter Jenkins couldn't finish the play. Brian Milligan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. ZEIG AFC's Luke Faith played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Conal Gibbons in the 56th minute of play. Luke Faith stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Conal Gibbons's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. When Ashley Beasley fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ZEIG AFC's protests and gave Ashley Beasley a yellow card for diving instead. Ashley Beasley hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. After having played for 62 minutes, Reg Crane managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pondersbridge FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Reg Crane was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. ZEIG AFC's Luke Faith played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Walter Ring in the 65th minute of play. Tom Lee-Barrett blasted a shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kasey Nicholls having to make a save. The supporters of ZEIG AFC booed when Pondersbridge FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Walter Ring didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luke Faith showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reg Crane, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. The supporters of Pondersbridge FC booed when ZEIG AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tom Lee-Barrett didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 78thth minute of the game Hayden Mullan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ZEIG AFC's Luke Faith was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 81 minutes into the match, ZEIG AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Reg Crane came free, but Luke Faith reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 83 minutes, Tom Lee-Barrett managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ZEIG AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tom Lee-Barrett was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ashley Beasley in the 88th minute of play forced Pondersbridge FC's goalkeeper Kasey Nicholls to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the ZEIG AFC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Pondersbridge FC.
