Christopher Hay's late challenge caught a Pondersbridge FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Christopher Hay helped the player get up and apologised. In the 11th minute, Reg Crane got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 13 minutes, Reg Crane managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pondersbridge FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Reg Crane was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Legia Warsaw's Junior Borrowdale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reg Crane in the 15th minute of play. Reg Crane sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Pondersbridge FC's Conal Gibbons in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The Legia Warsaw fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Junior Borrowdale should have stopped the shot. Johnathan Cutts hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Tod Prendergast hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. In the 30th minute, Johnathan Cutts got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Conal Gibbons had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Conal Gibbons to make the kick off. Junior Borrowdale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Conal Gibbons, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Johnathan Cutts sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Martyn Baxter's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kasey Nicholls was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. In the 66th match minute, Legia Warsaw was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alex Osborn to maneuver through the defense. In the 67th minute of the match Graham Stobbs shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Junior Borrowdale showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 69th minute, Martyn Baxter ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kasey Nicholls was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. A collision led to Pondersbridge FC getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Walter Ring hit a great ball. In the 84th match minute, Pondersbridge FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Walter Ring to maneuver through the defense. Kasey Nicholls made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Johnathan Cutts in the 86th minute of play. Martyn Baxter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kasey Nicholls having to interfere. Reg Crane recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Conal Gibbons sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Oliver Budge kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. Legia Warsaw's Junior Borrowdale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Conal Gibbons in the 97th minute of play.
