The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. ZEIG AFC's Luke Faith played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reg Crane in the 22nd minute of play. 30 minutes into the match, ZEIG AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Conal Gibbons came free, but Luke Faith reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Conal Gibbons's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luke Faith was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. ZEIG AFC's Luke Faith played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reg Crane in the 42nd minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tom Lee-Barrett stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The coaching staff of ZEIG AFC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Quentin Coleman had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 57th minute, one of ZEIG AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for ZEIG AFC. After 60 minutes, Peter Jenkins mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ZEIG AFC and the Pondersbridge FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 61st match minute, ZEIG AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Peter Jenkins to maneuver through the defense. In the 64th minute, Reg Crane made a precise shot to the right of Luke Faith. ZEIG AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Conal Gibbons struck a weak shot in the 102nd minute. Luke Faith didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pondersbridge FC. Pondersbridge FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
