Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Ash Barratt kicked off to start the match. When Jack Hay, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 9 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Martyn Gough was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Norby's Martyn Gough played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pete Monk in the 11th minute of play. After 13 played minutes Norby got a freekick which was hit by Don Platt. In the 15th minute, Jack Hay made a precise shot to the right of Martyn Gough. Norby's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Ash Barratt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chip Byfield having to interfere. A collision led to Norby getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Don Platt hit a great ball. In the 23rd minute of the match Austin Langley shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Martyn Gough showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Bradley Hollingsworth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chip Byfield having to interfere. After having played for 30 minutes, Jack Hay managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Barnoldswick FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jack Hay was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Barnoldswick FC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Pete Monk hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Norby's Dan Bancroft got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Chip Byfield showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ash Barratt, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. After 43 played minutes Norby got a freekick which was hit by Don Platt. Pete Monk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 48th minute the ball was on its way in behind Norby's goalkeeper Martyn Gough, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jack Hay to strike the kick off in the second half. Chip Byfield took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ash Barratt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 60 minutes into the match, Barnoldswick FC's Jack Hay sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Martyn Gough narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 62 minutes, Danny Blacknell mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Barnoldswick FC and the Norby players grew even worse after the yellow card. 63 minutes into the game, Norby's Ash Barratt nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Chip Byfield made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. After a defensive mix-up in Barnoldswick FC's zone, Ash Barratt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Chip Byfield came out of the goal and Ash Barratt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 75th minute, Pete Monk got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Jack Hay managed to get in a good position for a shot. Barnoldswick FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jack Hay was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Martyn Gough breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Norby's Sammy Holdroyd got a free kick in the 79th minute. The supporters of Barnoldswick FC booed when Norby was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Darren Rundell didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jack Hay recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pete Monk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pete Monks short, quick shot in the 89thth minute got Martyn Gough to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 90th minute, Jack Hay got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Pete Monk could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Martyn Gough made a huge save. 95 minutes into the match, Norby's goal looked a bit too open when Jack Hay came free, but Martyn Gough reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
