Deon Way showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jack Hay, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Deon Way took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jack Hay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 18 minutes, Ash Wing managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wirral Rubbish's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ash Wing was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marty Hartley's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Chip Byfield read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, Wirral Rubbish's goal looked a bit too open when Jack Hay came free, but Deon Way reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jack Hay was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Ash Wing got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 67 minutes, Marty Hartley managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wirral Rubbish's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marty Hartley was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Ash Wing managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wirral Rubbish's supporters rose to their feet, but Ash Wing was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chip Byfield breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marty Hartley blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Chip Byfield having to make a save. Chip Byfield showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ash Wing, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. In the 82nd minute Jack Hay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Deon Way saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ash Wing fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chip Byfield having to interfere. Ash Wing charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ash Wing the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 86th minute, Ash Wing hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marty Hartley recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Barnoldswick FC were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Wirral Rubbish's much stronger midfield.
