The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Olly Crawshaw during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ken Beckford showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Denny Parry, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. In the 21st minute, Seth Gillow fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Robert Seagrave stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Seth Gillow's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. Loyd Wagstaff charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Loyd Wagstaff the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Loyd Wagstaff hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Seth Gillow put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Robert Seagrave. When Wally Dunlop fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Wally Dunlop hit a great ball. Ken Beckford made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oliver Lovett in the 33rd minute of play. Sedlescombe's Robert Seagrave proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Sedlescombe from getting a goal against them. Seth Gillow sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ken Beckford showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oliver Lovett in the 41st minute of the match. 41 minutes into the match, Sporting Díjon's goal looked a bit too open when Oliver Lovett came free, but Ken Beckford reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 43 minutes of play, Sedlescombe's Loyd Wagstaff made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ken Beckford was left in no man's land by his defense there! After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Oliver Lovett to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 50th minute, Jim Pickering hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Olly Crawshaw came free with the goalkeeper in the 51st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Ken Beckford could save by the left post. Robert Seagrave showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Seth Gillow in the 53rd minute of the match. In the 57th match minute, Sedlescombe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Denny Parry to maneuver through the defense. Sedlescombe's Robert Seagrave played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Seth Gillow in the 61st minute of play. After 63 played minutes Sporting Díjon got a freekick which was hit by Jim Pickering. Sporting Díjon's Ken Beckford proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Sporting Díjon from getting a goal against them. When Sporting Díjon's Seth Gillow in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sedlescombe's goalie prevented a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Seth Gillow in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Robert Seagrave prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dom Dines's late challenge caught a Sporting Díjon's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dom Dines helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Sporting Díjon booed when Sedlescombe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dom Dines didn't get a good kick on the ball. Olly Crawshaw came free with the goalkeeper in the 77th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Ken Beckford could save by the left post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rod Wakefield during the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Seth Gillow received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Robert Seagrave tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vinnie Bodsworth in the 90th minute of play forced Sedlescombe's goalkeeper Robert Seagrave to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Robert Seagrave showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Seth Gillow, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. In the 93rd minute, Sedlescombe's Denny Parry dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
