Louis Ingram started the match with the kick off. Duncan Beckham charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Duncan Beckham the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Louth AFC's Duncan Beckham got a free kick in the 3rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Piwkol FC's zone, Gary Scargill stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Buster Beard came out of the goal and Gary Scargill tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Phil Mallon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Louth AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Phil Mallon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Buster Beard breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 21st minute, Gary Scargill ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Buster Beard was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Piwkol FC's Buster Beard played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gary Scargill in the 26th minute of play. In the 29th minute Phil Mallon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Buster Beard saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gary Scargill sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Louis Ingram sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 35 minutes into the game, Phil Mallon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Buster Beard was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Buster Beard didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Phil Mallon went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Buster Beard showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Phil Mallon in the 46th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Phil Mallon stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Phil Mallon might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Buster Beard. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Phil Mallon ran back to his position shaking his head. Gary Scargill sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Piwkol FC's Conal Lydiate got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Piwkol FC's Louis Ingram got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Piwkol FC defense, Mitch Nicholson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Buster Beard. The Piwkol FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Buster Beard should have stopped the shot. When Duncan Beckham was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 70 minutes had been played. A collision led to Louth AFC getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Duncan Beckham hit a great ball. Gary Scargill fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Buster Beard having to interfere. Gary Scargill struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Buster Beard didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Louth AFC. Gav Leeson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Buster Beard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 84 played minutes Piwkol FC got a freekick which was hit by John Paul Dobson. The supporters of Piwkol FC booed when Louth AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Phil Mallon didn't get a good kick on the ball. 89 minutes into the match, Piwkol FC's Pat Rawlings broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Conal Lydiate received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Nathan Cousens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 97 minutes, Louis Ingram managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Piwkol FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Louis Ingram was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Piwkol FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Louth AFC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
