In the 3rd match minute, Chelsea AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kevin Shackleton to maneuver through the defense. In the 5th minute of the match SHIPLEY TOWN AFC got a corner. Chelsea AFC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Byron Chegwyn ran over to the corner to take the kick. Rio Owen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ritchie Chalmers went, in the 7th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 10th minute, Barry Bateson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ash Lomas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ritchie Chalmers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 20th minute, Ash Lomas fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Vince Vickers, passed just outside the right post. With a little luck, SHIPLEY TOWN AFC's Vince Vickers got control of the ball when Nigel Schofield tried to sneak it across the goal line. With an all-out effort, Chelsea AFC's Vince Vickers threw himself towards the right post 25 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ash Lomas, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 27 minutes into the match, Chelsea AFC's Ash Lomas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vince Vickers narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, SHIPLEY TOWN AFC's Barry Bateson got a free kick in the 28th minute. If Ritchie Chalmers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Thom Boyd fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chelsea AFC's protests and gave Thom Boyd a yellow card for diving instead. In the 35th minute, Jamal McGrath hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of SHIPLEY TOWN AFC booed when Chelsea AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kevin Shackleton didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 44th minute, Nigel Schofield got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Barry Bateson hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. SHIPLEY TOWN AFC's Vince Vickers proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save SHIPLEY TOWN AFC from getting a goal against them. Ash Lomas struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Vince Vickers didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chelsea AFC. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

In the 53rd minute Ash Lomas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vince Vickers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Ritchie Chalmers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 56 minutes into the match, Chelsea AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Pierre Hinchcliffe came free, but Rio Owen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rio Owen was a little too slow when Ritchie Chalmers got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 57th minute. The score was now 0-2. Vince Vickers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ash Lomas in the 61st minute of play. Liam Law hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Chelsea AFC were awarded a corner in the 64th minute after SHIPLEY TOWN AFC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Thom Boyd took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Junior Fawell got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Vince Vickers quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 65th match minute, Chelsea AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Liam Bond to maneuver through the defense. Byron Chegwyn hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Vince Vickers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thom Boyd in the 68th minute of the match. Nigel Schofield received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Vince Vickers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Chelsea AFC fans' excitement grew in the 79th match minute when Chelsea AFC's Nigel Schofield looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a defensive mix-up in SHIPLEY TOWN AFC's zone, Ash Lomas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vince Vickers came out of the goal and Ash Lomas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Nigel Schofield's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vince Vickers was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. 92 minutes into the game, Lloyd McCormick was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SHIPLEY TOWN AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chelsea AFC the free kick. Nigel Schofield fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vince Vickers having to interfere.
