Ash Jones could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Rio Birchall made a huge save. 10 minutes into the match, Sammy Ratcliffe dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Rio Birchall, 1-0. In the 21st minute, Eric Emberson fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Rio Birchall, passed just outside the right post. 27 minutes into the game, Tod Camfield recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Rio Birchall. Tod Camfield showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. If Warren Crosby had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 41st minute of the match, Sammy Ratcliffe tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rio Birchall saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 45th minute, Lubenita Godlob's Sammy Ratcliffe dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jeremy Drysdale during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jeremy Drysdale hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. 53 minutes into the game, Sammy Ratcliffe cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Rio Birchall was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Alex Kyle struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Damion Paget didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cum United. After some careless play in the Cum United defense, Tod Camfield kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rio Birchall. The Cum United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rio Birchall should have stopped the shot. Rio Birchall came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Lubenita Godlob's Tod Camfield. But to his dismay, Tod Camfield quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. When Francis Hilton came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Cum United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Francis Hilton couldn't finish the play. Rio Birchall showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eric Emberson, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Warren Crosby struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Damion Paget didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cum United. 89 minutes into the match, Cum United's goal looked a bit too open when Ash Jones came free, but Rio Birchall reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 94th minute Tod Camfield shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rio Birchall saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lubenita Godlob's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
