Tod Garner could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Noel Doona made a huge save. Noel Doona showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Charlie Frost in the 8th minute of the match. Blackpool United's Micheal Hurst played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eric Mann in the 13th minute of play. Eric Mann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Micheal Hurst tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 21 minutes, Vance Rogers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Manchester City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vance Rogers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vance Rogers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Micheal Hurst tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Micheal Hurst showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eric Mann, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Micheal Hurst made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eric Mann in the 39th minute of play. Vance Rogers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Charlie Frost made a kick off. Vance Rogers recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 55 minutes, Eric Mann managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Manchester City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eric Mann was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 59 minutes into the match, Charlie Frost had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Noel Doona. Manchester City's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Charlie Frost was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Noel Doona made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sean Trunks in the 66th minute of play. 67 minutes into the match, Manchester City's goal looked a bit too open when Kasey Brimble came free, but Noel Doona reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vance Rogers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpected shot in the 74th minute by Greg Crossley got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. When Richard Fleming came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Manchester City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Richard Fleming couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Manchester City's Vance Rogers got a free kick in the 78th minute. Philip Askew sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 81st minute, Martin Gomersall hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 87 minutes, Greg Crossley managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Manchester City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Greg Crossley was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Vance Rogers came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Manchester City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vance Rogers couldn't finish the play. Micheal Hurst showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Greg Crossley in the 96th minute of the match. The Blackpool United fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Manchester City were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
