Micheal Hurst didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Francis Bowler went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Nick Fleming didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 45th minute, which inside left pole to 1-2. The Blackpool United players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Hook AFC were winning 1-2.

Sean Trunks's late challenge caught a Hook AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
