Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Brian Stockley started the match with the kick off. In the 6th minute, Will Nevin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Stan Barber recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 13th minute, Brian Stockley ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Blair Davey was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Barry Griggs hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Reg Bilton took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 17th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Blair Davey. Kilburn, Westbourne Park's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Nick Fleming made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Stan Barber sent off a good shot on target. Blair Davey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francis Bowler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 28 minutes into the game, Kilburn, Westbourne Park's Stan Barber nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nick Fleming made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Will Nevin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Blair Davey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francis Bowler, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Francis Bowler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Blair Davey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Reg Bilton charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Reg Bilton the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Hook AFC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Reg Bilton hit a great ball. Stan Barber took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nick Fleming. Nick Fleming dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Stan Barber stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Kilburn, Westbourne Park's Will Nevin pulled a muscle in his leg after 56 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 56 minutes, Piers Roche mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hook AFC and the Kilburn, Westbourne Park players grew even worse after the yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Vern Hendley managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kilburn, Westbourne Park's supporters rose to their feet, but Vern Hendley was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nick Fleming breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 62 played minutes Kilburn, Westbourne Park got a freekick which was hit by Graham Noble. The corner led to Kilburn, Westbourne Park's Tommy Spears getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. If Tommy Spears had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stan Barber in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nick Fleming saved Hook AFC from getting behind. Stan Barber received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Nick Fleming tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Kilburn, Westbourne Park booed when Hook AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ed Brimble didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonathon Cummings took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nick Fleming. Nick Fleming dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. In the 92nd minute, Stan Barber got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 94 minutes of play, Kilburn, Westbourne Park's Stan Barber made it 5-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nick Fleming was left in no man's land by his defense there! There was no doubt that Kilburn, Westbourne Park were the better team. Kilburn, Westbourne Park's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
