In the 46th minute, Charlie Frost made a precise shot to the right of Noel Doona. Manchester City's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Richard Fleming stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Noel Doona had in the 98thth minute some difficulties stopping Philip Askew's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Manchester City fully deserved thier win.
