Noel Doona showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tommy Spears in the 10th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Will Nevin in the 14th minute of play forced Manchester City's goalkeeper Noel Doona to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Stan Barber made a kick off. Noel Doona didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Will Nevin went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Noel Doona was a little too slow when Will Nevin got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 58th minute. The score was now 0-3. In the 61st minute, Stan Barber left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Kilburn, Westbourne Park fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Noel Doona made an important save on a dangerous shot by Stan Barber in the 64th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 67 minutes, Noel Doona successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Tommy Spears hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Blair Davey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eric Mann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 74th minute, Vance Rogers hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Noel Doona was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Will Nevin showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-5 in the 76 minute of play. In the 79th minute, Manchester City's Iain Howson seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Iain Howson the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Manchester City protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Iain Howson had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Manchester City fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 79th minute. Penalty! Vance Rogers struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Blair Davey didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manchester City. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Manchester City reached it. Noel Doona was out of position in the 92 minute of play, and Will Nevin capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Will Nevin really showed his touch with that goal: 0-7. Jonathon Cummings received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Noel Doona tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
