Justin Blackley was out of position in the 12 minute of play, and Dan Quinn capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Dan Quinn really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Damion Gilchrist recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Will Chipperfield, 29 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Damion Gilchrist could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Justin Blackley made a huge save. Stew Proctor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zack Hampshire in the 36th minute of play. In the 38th minute, Dan Quinn got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 42 minutes into the match, Wetheringsett Athletic's goal looked a bit too open when Christopher Rice came free, but Stew Proctor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Barry Rogers fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Arsenal Fc Academy's protests and gave Barry Rogers a yellow card for diving instead. Barry Rogers hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Barry Rogers took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 51st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Stew Proctor. Wetheringsett Athletic's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Damion Gilchrist might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Justin Blackley. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Damion Gilchrist ran back to his position shaking his head. Arsenal Fc Academy's Justin Blackley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damion Gilchrist in the 55th minute of play. Dan Quinn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Justin Blackley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In a very dangerous position, a player in Arsenal Fc Academy fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 62nd minute. Penalty! Wetheringsett Athletic's defense didn't have a chance, in the 81st minute, when Johnnie Wildman scored to the left of an out of position Stew Proctor, making the score, 2-2. After a rather tough play, Arsenal Fc Academy's Barry Rogers got a free kick in the 84th minute. In the 89th minute, Dan Quinn got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Damion Gilchrist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Justin Blackley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dan Quinn in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Justin Blackley prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Christopher Rice struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Stew Proctor didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Arsenal Fc Academy. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
