Brad Hurst dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. A collision led to Wanborough getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Spike Sedgemore hit a great ball. After 29 minutes of play, Wanborough's Rufus Perkins made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Charlie Phelps was left in no man's land by his defense there! Brad Hurst showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sammy Leatherdale, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. After 33 minutes, Benjamin Bedford mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Wanborough and the Darlington United players grew even worse after the yellow card. Benjamin Bedford hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Brad Hurst took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olly Trueman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Brad Hurst showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sammy Leatherdale in the 42nd minute of the match. After 44 minutes, Niall Fuller mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Wanborough and the Darlington United players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Wanborough's Niall Fuller got a free kick in the 44th minute. Sammy Leatherdale struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Brad Hurst didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Darlington United. After a defensive mix-up in Wanborough's zone, Olly Trueman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brad Hurst came out of the goal and Olly Trueman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The supporters of Darlington United booed when Wanborough was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Dowrick didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Olly Trueman came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Darlington United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Olly Trueman couldn't finish the play. If Rufus Perkins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Niall Fuller in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Charlie Phelps prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sammy Leatherdale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Through an outstanding action, after 74 minutes, Brad Hurst successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. When Wanborough's Niall Fuller in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Darlington United's goalie prevented a goal. Wanborough's Brad Hurst proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Wanborough from getting a goal against them. 82 minutes into the match, Wanborough's goalkeeper Brad Hurst had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Olly Trueman. Sammy Leatherdale received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Brad Hurst tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 93rd minute, Ashley Woods hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Darlington United players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Wanborough from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
