Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Jim Fitzgerald kicked off to start the match. After a rather tough play, Wokingham City's Ronny Clayton got a free kick in the 10th minute. Jerry Wilmott was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Ben Platt. 14 minutes into the match, Ronny Clayton notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Darlington United's Charlie Phelps. Charlie Phelps was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Wokingham City's Jerry Wilmott played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sammy Leatherdale in the 18th minute of play. Olly Trueman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jerry Wilmott having to interfere. Jerry Wilmott showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sammy Leatherdale in the 25th minute of the match. Shawn McAleer struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Charlie Phelps didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wokingham City. In the 29th match minute, Darlington United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olly Trueman to maneuver through the defense. Charlie Phelps showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jim Fitzgerald, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. After 31 played minutes Darlington United got a freekick which was hit by Les Barker. After a rather tough play, Wokingham City's Trey England got a free kick in the 37th minute. Ronny Clayton's late challenge caught a Darlington United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ronny Clayton helped the player get up and apologised. Ronny Clayton kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Jerry Wilmott made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sammy Leatherdale in the 46th minute of play. After the first half Wokingham City were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Sammy Leatherdale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jerry Wilmott having to interfere. Charlie Phelps made an important save on a dangerous shot by Shawn McAleer in the 55th minute. After 65 played minutes Darlington United got a freekick which was hit by Shaun Addison. After 66 played minutes Jim Fitzgerald rounded Darlington United's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-2. Jim Fitzgerald sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 73 minutes into the match, Darlington United's goalkeeper Charlie Phelps had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Shawn McAleer. Jerry Wilmott took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Shaun Addison, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jim Fitzgerald sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sammy Leatherdale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jerry Wilmott having to interfere. The supporters of Darlington United booed when Wokingham City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronny Clayton didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Mattias Bailey fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wokingham City's protests and gave Mattias Bailey a yellow card for diving instead. 83 minutes into the game, one of Wokingham City:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Mattias Bailey kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. The Wokingham City supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Wokingham City would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
