Niall Fuller sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 9th minute Niall Fuller shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jerry Wilmott saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Wanborough booed when Wokingham City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eddie Peacock didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Jim Fitzgerald had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jim Fitzgerald's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 18thth minute, Brad Hurst skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Alfred Brown took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 21st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Brad Hurst. Wanborough's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Jim Fitzgerald took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Brad Hurst to make any attempt to save it. After having played for 31 minutes, Shawn McAleer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wokingham City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Shawn McAleer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A hard shot 34 in the game by Shawn McAleer from a close distance when the talented Brad Hurst managed to make a qualified save. Wanborough's players were relieved. After 41 played minutes Wanborough got a freekick which was hit by Rufus Perkins. After having played for 42 minutes, Shawn McAleer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wokingham City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Shawn McAleer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Shawn McAleer struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Brad Hurst didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wokingham City. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Shawn McAleer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Wokingham City's Shawn McAleer got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Wokingham City getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Shawn McAleer hit a great ball. Wanborough's Brad Hurst played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jim Fitzgerald in the 82nd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Jim Fitzgerald's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Brad Hurst was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. Brad Hurst stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jim Fitzgerald's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. When the match had gone on for 87 minutes, Jim Fitzgerald put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Brad Hurst. An unexpectedly hard shot by Shawn McAleer in the 92nd minute of play forced Wanborough's goalkeeper Brad Hurst to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Eddie Peacock came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Wokingham City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eddie Peacock couldn't finish the play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Wokingham City fully deserved thier win.
