Todd Fisher yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. After a rather tough play, Canterbury's Timothy Leach got a free kick in the 26th minute. After 29 played minutes Jacob Mazon got a freekick which was hit by Lawrence Hopkinson. In the 31st minute, Alexander Mills left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Canterbury fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Ethan Coote showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vernon Pringle, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. In the 45th minute Vernon Pringle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ethan Coote saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Stevie Floyd made a kick off. After some careless play in the Jacob Mazon defense, Vernon Pringle kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ethan Coote. The Jacob Mazon fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ethan Coote should have stopped the shot. When the match was over Canterbury could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Jacob Mazon throughout the match.
