Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Fred Wing started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Telco's Pat Davison proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Telco from getting a goal against them. Stuart Guest showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fred Wing, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Fred Wing recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. John Clay recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Telco's Frankie Challis got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 26 minutes into the match, Frankie Challis notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of AFC Fylde's Stuart Guest. Stuart Guest was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Calvin Meade recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, John Clay managed to get in a good position for a shot. AFC Fylde's supporters rose to their feet, but John Clay was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pat Davison breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fred Wing hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. John Clay's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pat Davison read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. John Clay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pat Davison having to interfere. If John Clay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The AFC Fylde players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Telco were winning 0-1.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Calvin Meade to make the kick off. After 52 minutes, Gav Thorne mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Telco and the AFC Fylde players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 52 played minutes Telco got a freekick which was hit by Gav Thorne. When Phil Goldsmith came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the AFC Fylde fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Phil Goldsmith couldn't finish the play. In the 58th minute, AFC Fylde's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Frankie Challis fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. If Fred Wing had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Telco's Ralf Webster got a free kick in the 66th minute. If John Clay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. John Clay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 72 played minutes Telco got a freekick which was hit by Garth Turnbull. Pat Davison showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Calvin Meade in the 75th minute of the match. A sloppy throw-in by Gav Thorne in the 77th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by AFC Fylde's John Clay. Calvin Meade struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Pat Davison didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AFC Fylde. The supporters of AFC Fylde booed when Telco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ivor Bateman didn't get a good kick on the ball. If John Clay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pat Davison showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Phil Goldsmith in the 86th minute of the match. A collision led to Telco getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Frankie Challis hit a great ball. John Clay received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Pat Davison tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. John Clay struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Pat Davison didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AFC Fylde. Telco were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over AFC Fylde's much stronger midfield.
