Spectators: 6000 (Terracing: 5000,
Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Jay Acton took the kick off in the first half of the match. Pat Davison made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jay Acton in the 4th minute of play. Telco were furious when Garth Turnbull was red carded, 6 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Telco fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 6th minute. Penalty! After some careless play in the Telco defense, Ralph Boyd kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pat Davison. The Telco fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pat Davison should have stopped the shot. Ashley East received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Pat Davison tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Ashley East came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Amhaja fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ashley East couldn't finish the play. 25 minutes into the match, Ashley East notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Telco's Pat Davison. Pat Davison was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 27 minutes into the match, Amhaja's Ashley East sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pat Davison narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Pat Davison showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ashley East, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. After some careless play in the Telco defense, Ashley East kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pat Davison. The Telco fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pat Davison should have stopped the shot. After 42 minutes of play, Amhaja's Ashley East made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pat Davison was left in no man's land by his defense there! Steve Drake kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Pat Davison came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by Amhaja's Ashley East. But to his dismay, Ashley East quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
Telco's Pat Davison played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jay Acton in the 53rd minute of play. The throw-in from Shawn Homes in the 58th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Telco's Fred Wing. After having played for 59 minutes, Frankie Challis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Telco's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frankie Challis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 61st minute, Ashley East got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Pat Davison was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Denzil Barton showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-6 in the 66 minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Amhaja's zone, Fred Wing stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Theo Carlick came out of the goal and Fred Wing tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jay Acton struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Pat Davison didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Amhaja. When Fred Wing fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Telco's protests and gave Fred Wing a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Amhaja booed when Telco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fred Wing didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fred Wing sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 82nd minute Steve Drake shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pat Davison saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 85 minutes into the match, Telco's goalkeeper Pat Davison had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ashley East. Theo Carlick came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Telco's Gav Thorne. But to his dismay, Gav Thorne quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-6. Pat Davison showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Steve Drake in the 94th minute of the match. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Amhaja walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
