Fred Wing helped the player get up and apologised. In the 14th match minute, Telco was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fred Wing to maneuver through the defense. Trey Potterton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Telco's Pat Davison played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Trey Potterton in the 22nd minute of play. Trey Potterton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Trey Potterton in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pat Davison prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 31st minute, Fred Wing got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 32nd match minute, LGFCE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sid Corbett to maneuver through the defense. In the 34th minute, Trey Potterton ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pat Davison was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Sid Corbett charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sid Corbett the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Sid Corbett kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 46 minutes into the match, Telco's goal looked a bit too open when Trey Potterton came free, but Pat Davison reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 47 minutes, Andy Seaman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. LGFCE's supporters crossed their fingers, but Andy Seaman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

With a little luck, Telco's Pat Davison got control of the ball when Trey Potterton tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Telco's zone, Andy Seaman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pat Davison came out of the goal and Andy Seaman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Wayne Furniss fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored LGFCE's protests and gave Wayne Furniss a yellow card for diving instead. In the 60th match minute, LGFCE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wayne Furniss to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Sid Corbett kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Pat Davison. That made the score 0-3 in the 66 minute of play.
