If Jerry Owen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 2nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jerry Owen in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sebastien Westwood saved Leominster from getting behind. 9 minutes into the game, Jamie Clemence cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Sebastien Westwood was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Noel Childs managed to get in a good position for a shot. Leominster's supporters rose to their feet, but Noel Childs was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Buster Jump breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sebastien Westwood didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jerry Owen went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 25th match minute, Exeter was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sidney Illingworth to maneuver through the defense. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Leominster's goalkeeper Sebastien Westwood, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Exeter's Buster Jump proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Exeter from getting a goal against them. Dom Barat's late challenge caught a Exeter's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dom Barat helped the player get up and apologised. After 34 played minutes Leominster got a freekick which was hit by Dom Barat. After recieving a nice pass, Exeter's Sidney Illingworth tried to score from far away in the 35th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Exeter's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jerry Owen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jerry Owen to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Jamie Clemence managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sebastien Westwood breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Buster Jump showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nathanial Myers in the 56th minute of the match. After 60 minutes of play Leominster's Dom Barat was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 61 played minutes Leominster got a freekick which was hit by Dom Barat. Exeter's Jamie Clemence got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jerry Owen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastien Westwood having to interfere. Jerry Owen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Sebastien Westwood tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nathanial Myers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Buster Jump having to interfere. In the 79th minute of the match, Rueben Postolan got a very nice opportunity to score, but Sebastien Westwood was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Jamie Clemence hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. 82 minutes into the match, Leominster's goalkeeper Sebastien Westwood had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jamie Clemence. Jerry Owen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Leominster's zone, Jerry Owen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sebastien Westwood came out of the goal and Jerry Owen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jerry Owen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Sebastien Westwood tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Leominster's zone, Jamie Clemence stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sebastien Westwood came out of the goal and Jamie Clemence tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match was over Exeter could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Leominster throughout the match.
