Seating: 1400, VIP seats: 140) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Ruben White started the match with the kick off. Howard Faith showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ruben White, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. In the 6th match minute, Stone was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benji Kitchen to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rex Metcalf in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cody Oldham prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Will Corrigan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rex Metcalf sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Will Corrigan took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cody Oldham. Cody Oldham dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. The supporters of Stone booed when Moseley City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dave King didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Ruben White came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Stone fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ruben White couldn't finish the play. 32 minutes into the match, Rex Metcalf had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cody Oldham. Stone's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rex Metcalf was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Rex Metcalf received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Cody Oldham tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Moseley City's Howard Faith got control of the ball when Antony Kenna tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Rex Metcalf managed to get in a good position for a shot. Moseley City's supporters rose to their feet, but Rex Metcalf was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cody Oldham breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Moseley City getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. David Haskell hit a great ball. Through an outstanding action, after 50 minutes, Howard Faith successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rex Metcalf was the one to do the kick off. Rex Metcalf received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Cody Oldham came out and tried to block the shot, but Rex Metcalf slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 60th minute. In the 63rd minute, Rex Metcalf reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Cody Oldham. The goal made the score 0-4. Ruben White sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Andre Brewer during the 72nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Moseley City's Andre Brewer got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Howard Faith took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ruben White, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpected shot in the 76th minute by Rex Metcalf got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rex Metcalf in the 80th minute of play forced Stone's goalkeeper Cody Oldham to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Moseley City booed when Stone was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Quentin Dunning didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 83 played minutes Stone got a freekick which was hit by Al Garnett. Cody Oldham made an important save on a dangerous shot by Will Corrigan in the 85th minute. Rex Metcalf fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cody Oldham having to interfere. Cody Oldham made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Will Corrigan sent off a good shot on target. If Will Corrigan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rex Metcalf charged in rather forcefully in the 98th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rex Metcalf the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 98 played minutes Moseley City got a freekick which was hit by Rex Metcalf. The Stone fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Moseley City were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
