Moseley City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mighty Minstermen - Leeds the free kick. After 16 played minutes Moseley City got a freekick which was hit by Garth Garforth. The supporters of Mighty Minstermen - Leeds booed when Moseley City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frankie Armstrong didn't get a good kick on the ball. Howard Faith made an important save on a dangerous shot by Darius Barnett in the 23rd minute. Mighty Minstermen - Leeds's Darius Barnett got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 35 minutes, Will Corrigan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Moseley City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Will Corrigan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Geoff Dines charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Geoff Dines the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 37th minute, Frankie Armstrong hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 39 minutes of play, Moseley City's Andre Brewer made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Stevie Gaskell was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gwyn Dry received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Stevie Gaskell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 48th minute, Darius Barnett got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

Will Corrigan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stevie Gaskell having to interfere. If Gwyn Dry had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Will Corrigan got free with Stevie Gaskell in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Will Corrigan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Mighty Minstermen - Leeds defense, Gwyn Dry kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Stevie Gaskell. The Mighty Minstermen - Leeds fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Stevie Gaskell should have stopped the shot. 70 minutes into the match, Mighty Minstermen - Leeds's goalkeeper Stevie Gaskell had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Will Corrigan. If Will Corrigan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Mighty Minstermen - Leeds's Stevie Gaskell got control of the ball when Frankie Armstrong tried to sneak it across the goal line.
