The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Alistair Woodhall showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lennie Butterfield in the 3rd minute of the match. Rhys Hopgood was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but George Langley showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 6 minute of play. George Langley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rhys Hopgood having to interfere. Austin Lucas kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. 19 minutes into the game, Austin Lucas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Stourport on Severn United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Huyton AFC the free kick. Alistair Woodhall took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lennie Butterfield, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rhys Hopgood made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when George Langley sent off a good shot on target. If Austin Lucas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee gave Stourport on Severn United a penalty, 31 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Frankie Law, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Huyton AFC's Rhys Hopgood. 2-0. George Langley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Stourport on Severn United booed when Huyton AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Beinn Pinder didn't get a good kick on the ball. George Langley could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Rhys Hopgood made a huge save. If Al Brady had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Al Brady in the 59th minute of play forced Huyton AFC's goalkeeper Rhys Hopgood to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leon Charie hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers George Langley in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rhys Hopgood saved Huyton AFC from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by George Langley in the 62nd minute of play forced Huyton AFC's goalkeeper Rhys Hopgood to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 68 played minutes Stourport on Severn United got a freekick which was hit by Denzil Watts. After a defensive mix-up in Stourport on Severn United's zone, Lennie Butterfield stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alistair Woodhall came out of the goal and Lennie Butterfield tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 71 played minutes Stourport on Severn United got a freekick which was hit by Martin Turner. Stourport on Severn United's George Langley got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rhys Hopgood made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from George Langley in the 81st minute of play. If George Langley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 88 minutes into the match, Rory Hayes notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Stourport on Severn United's Alistair Woodhall. Alistair Woodhall was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ollie Kalischer took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 93rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Alistair Woodhall. Stourport on Severn United's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Martin Turner's late challenge caught a Huyton AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Martin Turner helped the player get up and apologised. In the 93rd match minute, Stourport on Severn United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Martin Turner to maneuver through the defense.
