Spectators: 7546 (Terracing: 5661, Seating: 1735, VIP seats: 150) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Stan Hind started the match with the kick off. After 7 played minutes, Salmon FC's Ken Buchanan shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Derek Dobbs came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Salmon FC reached it. In the 8th match minute, Coppull was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chesney Craven to maneuver through the defense. 12 minutes into the match, Salmon FC's goal looked a bit too open when Laurence Featherstone came free, but Ashley Morris reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mattias Bedford charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mattias Bedford the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Chesney Craven didn't quite understand what happened when in the 20 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. Sidney Sawbridge kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. In the 23rd minute, Stan Hind fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Salmon FC's Stan Hind got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 34th minute, Steven Fordham got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stan Hind in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Derek Dobbs saved Coppull from getting behind. If Steven Fordham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Coppull's Laurence Featherstone got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Steven Fordham could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but Derek Dobbs made a huge save. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Duncan Barron stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 53 minutes, Laurence Featherstone managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Coppull's supporters crossed their fingers, but Laurence Featherstone was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Coppull's John Newlyn got a free kick in the 56th minute. The audience cheered when Louie Barraclough's long shot passed Derek Dobbs's right side. It was 1-0, 57 minutes into the match. Stan Hind recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ashley Morris made an important save on a dangerous shot by Laurence Featherstone in the 73rd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Duncan Barron kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ashley Morris. That made the score 1-1 in the 74 minute of play. In the 77th match minute, Coppull was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ty Eagles to maneuver through the defense. In the 81st match minute, Salmon FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Darius Duffield to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Coppull's Vernon MacDonald tried to score from far away in the 82nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Ashley Morris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Duncan Barron, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. The supporters of Coppull booed when Salmon FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martyn Bell didn't get a good kick on the ball. 99 minutes into the match, Coppull's goal looked a bit too open when Steven Fordham came free, but Derek Dobbs reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Coppull succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Salmon FC had controlled the match.
