Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Rex Metcalf got the match started through his kick off. In the 3rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Moseley City's goalkeeper Howard Faith, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gwyn Dry hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Howard Faith didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Stan Hind went, in the 7th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Steven Fordham in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Howard Faith prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Rex Metcalf had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Will Corrigan who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 19thth minute tested the skills of Ashley Morris when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 20th minute Rex Metcalf shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ashley Morris saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Will Corrigan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rex Metcalf was extremely unlucky when he, in the 23rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Ashley Morris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rex Metcalf, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. When Salmon FC's Stan Hind in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Moseley City's goalie prevented a goal. Ashley Morris was a little too slow when Rex Metcalf got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 30th minute. The score was now 1-1. After some careless play in the Moseley City defense, Stan Hind kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Howard Faith. The Moseley City fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Howard Faith should have stopped the shot. In the 38th minute, Will Corrigan made a precise shot to the right of Ashley Morris. Salmon FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Will Corrigan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ashley Morris having to interfere. Will Corrigan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Ashley Morris made a huge save. Rex Metcalf fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ashley Morris having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Stan Hind stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Steven Fordham scored 2-3 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Howard Faith, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Steven Fordham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Howard Faith tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 74 minutes into the game, Steven Fordham recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Howard Faith. Steven Fordham showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-5. Steven Fordham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Howard Faith having to interfere. The supporters of Salmon FC booed when Moseley City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Garth Garforth didn't get a good kick on the ball. Steven Fordham recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Stan Hind fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Howard Faith having to interfere. Steven Fordham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Moseley City's zone, Steven Fordham stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Howard Faith came out of the goal and Steven Fordham tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rex Metcalf struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Ashley Morris didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Moseley City. 94 minutes into the game, one of Salmon FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Dave King shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Ashley Morris made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rex Metcalf in the 98th minute of play. Stan Hind might have been able to make a better finish in the 101st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Howard Faith. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Stan Hind ran back to his position shaking his head. Salmon FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
