The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Alistair Woodhall showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Duncan Barron, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. In the 13th minute, Al Brady hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If George Langley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Stourport on Severn United's Al Brady got a free kick in the 16th minute. Derek Dobbs made an important save on a dangerous shot by George Langley in the 21st minute. In the 24th minute Al Brady shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Derek Dobbs saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A hard shot 27 in the game by George Langley from a close distance when the talented Derek Dobbs managed to make a qualified save. Coppull's players were relieved. George Langley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 38 minutes into the match, Stourport on Severn United's Al Brady sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Derek Dobbs narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 38 minutes, John Newlyn mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Coppull and the Stourport on Severn United players grew even worse after the yellow card. John Newlyn hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. After having played for 41 minutes, George Langley managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Stourport on Severn United's supporters crossed their fingers, but George Langley was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. George Langley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Coppull were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Stourport on Severn United's Denzil Watts got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Coppull's zone, George Langley stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Derek Dobbs came out of the goal and George Langley tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Duncan Barron's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alistair Woodhall was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. George Langley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Derek Dobbs tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 64th minute Al Brady shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Derek Dobbs saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 65 minutes, Denzil Watts mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Stourport on Severn United and the Coppull players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 65 played minutes Stourport on Severn United got a freekick which was hit by Denzil Watts. Coppull's Laurence Featherstone got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. George Langley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Derek Dobbs tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. George Langley recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 78thth minute of the game George Langley who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Coppull's Derek Dobbs was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Derek Dobbs made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Al Brady in the 82nd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Chesney Craven during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 84 played minutes Coppull got a freekick which was hit by Chesney Craven. Al Brady received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Derek Dobbs tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Austin Lucas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Derek Dobbs having to interfere. George Langley recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Chants of Coppull echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Stourport on Severn United had held the ball for most of the match.
