Wayne Boothroyd showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeffrey Boyce, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. The supporters of Dewsbury booed when Osp boys was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Steven Pinder didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 25th match minute, Osp boys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Steven Pinder to maneuver through the defense. In the 26thth minute of the game Jeffrey Boyce who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Osp boys's Wayne Boothroyd was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. David Markinson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wayne Boothroyd having to interfere. With his leg Marty Leighton managed to avoid a goal in the 33rdth minute, when Osp boys's Al Sinclair fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Jeffrey Boyce fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wayne Boothroyd having to interfere. Osp boys's Wayne Boothroyd played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeffrey Boyce in the 40th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Dewsbury's Johnathon Bowen got a free kick in the 45th minute. In the 47th minute, Al Sinclair made a precise shot to the right of Marty Leighton. Dewsbury's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jeffrey Boyce stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Wayne Boothroyd made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when David Markinson sent off a good shot on target. After 85 played minutes Jeffrey Boyce rounded Osp boys's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-2.
