Spectators: 7472 (Terracing: 5700, Seating: 1747, VIP seats: 25) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Nick Coyle got the match started through his kick off. Jeffrey Boyce struck a weak shot in the 3rd minute. Peter Dixon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dewsbury. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeffrey Boyce in the 5th minute of play forced New Marske's goalkeeper Peter Dixon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nick Coyle recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Piers Deaconsfield could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Marty Leighton made a huge save. Piers Deaconsfield received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Marty Leighton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. New Marske's Nick Coyle got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. New Marske's Peter Dixon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeffrey Boyce in the 28th minute of play. In the 30thth minute of the game Jeffrey Boyce who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but New Marske's Peter Dixon was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Nick Coyle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Marty Leighton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 35 played minutes Dewsbury got a freekick which was hit by Johnathon Bowen. New Marske's Jermaine Vaughan shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 36th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Marty Leighton but with some difficulty. Peter Dixon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Markinson in the 38th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Jeffrey Boyce managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dewsbury's supporters rose to their feet, but Jeffrey Boyce was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Peter Dixon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Peter Dixon didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jeffrey Boyce went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jeffrey Boyce was the one to do the kick off. Dewsbury's David Markinson got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 54th minute, David Markinson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rufus Impey's shot from long distance in the 61st minute was not bad at all, but New Marske's Peter Dixon knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. If Jeffrey Boyce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 67 minutes, David Markinson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dewsbury's supporters crossed their fingers, but David Markinson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 70 minutes into the match, New Marske's goal looked a bit too open when Jeffrey Boyce came free, but Peter Dixon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. New Marske's Peter Dixon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save New Marske from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, New Marske's Peter Dixon got control of the ball when David Markinson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Piers Deaconsfield might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marty Leighton. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Piers Deaconsfield ran back to his position shaking his head. Marty Leighton came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by New Marske's Nick Coyle. But to his dismay, Nick Coyle quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Curtis Pamplin tried in the game's 90th match minute to clear up in front of his own goal but it went so bad that he put the ball into the goal to the left of an unhappy Peter Dixon. An annoying self made goal, 1-2. Jeffrey Boyce was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 94th minute. Dewsbury's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. When the final whistle sounded Dewsbury left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than New Marske.
