John Clayton might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Garth Beadel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Garth Beadel came out and tried to block the shot, but Pete Sheringham slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 30th minute. Caleb Deighton's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedro Medlin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. Pete Sheringham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If John Clayton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Garth Beadel came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by Oli O FC's John Clayton. But to his dismay, John Clayton quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. 85 minutes into the match, Lynton's goal looked a bit too open when John Clayton came free, but Garth Beadel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Pete Sheringham managed to get in a good position for a shot. Oli O FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Pete Sheringham was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Garth Beadel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 92 minutes, Sammy Burnham managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Oli O FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sammy Burnham was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Oli O FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
