Barmby on the Marsh
Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Eddy Nicoll made the kick off which started today's match. In the 4th minute of the match, Chip Gilchrist tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Wesley Lawson saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 4th match minute, Annscroft FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Karl Akins to maneuver through the defense. Chip Gilchrist recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 13th minute, Barmby on the Marsh's Chip Gilchrist dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Chip Gilchrist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a rather tough play, Annscroft FC's Marlon Dixon got a free kick in the 17th minute. Wesley Lawson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chip Gilchrist in the 18th minute of the match. Dominik Allwright kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Oscar Clist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reggie Whalley, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Philip Tuck hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. In the 25th minute, Felix Parrott sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Annscroft FC's Wesley Lawson didn't even have to move. If Miles Le Tissier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 39 minutes, Miles Le Tissier managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Barmby on the Marsh's supporters crossed their fingers, but Miles Le Tissier was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Barmby on the Marsh getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Chip Gilchrist hit a great ball. Oscar Clist came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Annscroft FC's Reggie Whalley. But to his dismay, Reggie Whalley quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Reggie Whalley struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Oscar Clist didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Annscroft FC. Wesley Lawson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chip Gilchrist, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. When Karl Akins fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Annscroft FC's protests and gave Karl Akins a yellow card for diving instead. In the 54th minute, Roy Winterbine hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With his leg Oscar Clist managed to avoid a goal in the 57thth minute, when Annscroft FC's Reggie Whalley fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Reggie Whalley in the 68thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Oscar Clist, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Oscar Clist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eddy Nicoll, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. After 72 played minutes Annscroft FC got a freekick which was hit by Marlon Dixon. Barmby on the Marsh's Felix Parrott couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Annscroft FC. After 74 minutes of play, Annscroft FC's Eddy Nicoll made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Oscar Clist was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 80 minutes of play, Barmby on the Marsh's Miles Le Tissier made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wesley Lawson was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience was convinced that Eddy Nicoll's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Oscar Clist was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. The supporters of Annscroft FC booed when Barmby on the Marsh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chaz Goodwick didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eddy Nicoll fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oscar Clist having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Miles Le Tissier in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wesley Lawson saved Annscroft FC from getting behind. If Reggie Whalley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
