Iffley Foxes's Dave Hazledine played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miles Le Tissier in the 10th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 12 minutes, Warren Dowdall took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Oscar Clist to make any attempt to save it. Chip Gilchrist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Warren Featherson might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Oscar Clist. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Warren Featherson ran back to his position shaking his head. If Chip Gilchrist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guy Vaughn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dave Hazledine having to interfere. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Warren Dowdall made a kick off. Miles Le Tissier's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Dave Hazledine firmly grabbed it by the left post. 65 minutes into the game, Barmby on the Marsh's Chip Gilchrist nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dave Hazledine made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Chip Gilchrist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Dave Hazledine tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Miles Le Tissier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 77 minutes into the match, Iffley Foxes's goal looked a bit too open when Chip Gilchrist came free, but Dave Hazledine reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Iffley Foxes's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Garry Newman in the 81st minute. The supporters of Barmby on the Marsh booed when Iffley Foxes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rich Winship didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Miles Le Tissier came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Barmby on the Marsh fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Miles Le Tissier couldn't finish the play. Miles Le Tissier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Dave Hazledine tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 95thth minute of the game Chip Gilchrist who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Iffley Foxes's Dave Hazledine was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Barmby on the Marsh were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Iffley Foxes to leave the ground with a draw.
