Vincent Edison showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Louie Delamore, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. When Simeon Beerman fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Trabzonspor's protests and gave Simeon Beerman a yellow card for diving instead. Vincent Edison showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andrew Couch in the 35th minute of the match. The supporters of Trabzonspor booed when Luxirare was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anthony Lynch didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Luxirare's zone, Louie Delamore stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vincent Edison came out of the goal and Louie Delamore tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Anthony Gray kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Phil Barratt. That made the score 2-0 in the 44 minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Anthony Gray was the one to do the kick off. A hard shot 52 in the game by Louie Delamore from a close distance when the talented Vincent Edison managed to make a qualified save. Luxirare's players were relieved. 57 minutes into the match, Trabzonspor's Andrew Couch sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vincent Edison narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Vincent Edison made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrew Couch in the 64th minute of play. Anthony Lynch hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. In the 78th minute, one of Luxirare:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Luxirare. In the 82nd minute, Andrew Couch reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Vincent Edison. The goal made the score 2-2. Andrew Couch took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vincent Edison. Vincent Edison dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. Anthony Gray fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phil Barratt having to interfere. When Louie Delamore came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Trabzonspor fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Louie Delamore couldn't finish the play.
