Spectators: 5050 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 50) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Brynn Parkin got the match started through his kick off. Brynn Parkin hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rio Lambley in the 4th minute of play forced Widnes's goalkeeper Gordon Naylor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Brynn Parkin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 15 in the game by Cliff Budden from a close distance when the talented Gordon Naylor managed to make a qualified save. Widnes's players were relieved. Gordon Naylor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brynn Parkin, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Widnes's Gordon Naylor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rio Lambley in the 19th minute of play. Andy Colton came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Widnes's Tommy Mulligan. But to his dismay, Tommy Mulligan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Gordon Naylor didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cliff Budden went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. FC Cuza-Voda's Chris Odell got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Widnes defense, Brynn Parkin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gordon Naylor. The Widnes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gordon Naylor should have stopped the shot. FC Cuza-Voda's Chris Odell suffered a concussion after 36 minutes and had to leave the field. George Scargill charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed George Scargill the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. FC Cuza-Voda's Ashley Carragher was substituted for Chris Odell. In the 37th match minute, Widnes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by George Scargill to maneuver through the defense. In the 38th minute, Cliff Budden got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 39 minutes into the match, Widnes's goal looked a bit too open when Rio Lambley came free, but Gordon Naylor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Benji Swallow during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to FC Cuza-Voda getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Benji Swallow hit a great ball. 45 minutes into the match, FC Cuza-Voda's Andre Clarke sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gordon Naylor narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gordon Naylor made an important save on a dangerous shot by Benji Swallow in the 47th minute. In the 48th minute Rio Lambley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gordon Naylor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bruce Kyle made a kick off. After 51 played minutes Widnes got a freekick which was hit by Leon Pearson. After 52 minutes of play, FC Cuza-Voda's Cliff Budden made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gordon Naylor was left in no man's land by his defense there! 57 minutes into the game, Brynn Parkin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Gordon Naylor was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Widnes booed when FC Cuza-Voda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benji Swallow didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Andre Clarke's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gordon Naylor was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. Gordon Naylor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rio Lambley in the 71st minute of the match. Cliff Budden recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rio Lambley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Gordon Naylor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gordon Naylor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brynn Parkin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Widnes's George Scargill got a free kick in the 82nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cliff Budden in the 95th minute of play forced Widnes's goalkeeper Gordon Naylor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 96th minute, Rio Lambley ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gordon Naylor was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-1. There was no doubt that FC Cuza-Voda were the better team. FC Cuza-Voda's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
