Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Lloyd Green took the kick off in the first half of the match. Keanu Langston showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lloyd Green in the 4th minute of the match. Mitch Huckerby struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Keanu Langston didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Culcheth City. Keanu Langston made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lloyd Green in the 24th minute of play. Albert Camfield charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Albert Camfield the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Colchester United getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Albert Camfield hit a great ball. Trevor Albright shot a long shot in the 28th minute and a light blocked Keanu Langston hadn't a chance when the ball went into goal on his right side. It was 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lloyd Green in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Keanu Langston saved Colchester United from getting behind. A collision led to Colchester United getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Joey Dobby hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Lloyd Green managed to get in a good position for a shot. Culcheth City's supporters rose to their feet, but Lloyd Green was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Keanu Langston breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Colchester United's Keanu Langston proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Colchester United from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Colchester United's Joey Dobby got a free kick in the 46th minute. Lloyd Green recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Keanu Langston made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lloyd Green in the 52nd minute of play. After 55 minutes of play, Culcheth City's Lloyd Green made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Keanu Langston was left in no man's land by his defense there! Lloyd Green sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Keanu Langston took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Denis Bradfield, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Keiran Tanner could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Al Buxton made a huge save. A hard, long distance shot from Joey Dobby flew over the goal. Denis Bradfield kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Al Buxton made an important save on a dangerous shot by Keiran Tanner in the 82nd minute. Joey Dobby received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Al Buxton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Keiran Tanner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Al Buxton having to interfere. In the 92nd minute, Culcheth City's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Leo Hargrave fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Culcheth City's zone, Leo Hargrave stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Al Buxton came out of the goal and Leo Hargrave tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Mitch Huckerby had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Culcheth City fans cheered their team off the field, for while Colchester United had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
