The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 11 minutes, Reggie Hardcastle managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nial Stevens got free with Nicholas Chamberlain in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Rotherham United booed when Psycho Squad was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tod Lowe didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nial Stevens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 1-0 became the score in the 29th minute when Tod Lowe elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Brian Hurst took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reggie Hardcastle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rotherham United's Edward Corrigan suffered a sore thigh after 37 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Christian Naylor during the 37th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rowan Simpson made a kick off. Nicholas Chamberlain was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Psycho Squad fans cheered their team off the field, for while Rotherham United had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
