Rotherham United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lewis Nelthorpe was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. 25 minutes into the match, Waltham Cross's goal looked a bit too open when Reggie Hardcastle came free, but Benjamin Paterson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 25 minutes into the game, 范林宽 was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Waltham Cross's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rotherham United the free kick. In the 41st match minute, Waltham Cross was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lewis Nelthorpe to maneuver through the defense. Kyle Goodall charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kyle Goodall the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 46 played minutes Rotherham United got a freekick which was hit by Kyle Goodall. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lewis Nelthorpe made a kick off. Rotherham United's Nicholas Chamberlain proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Rotherham United from getting a goal against them. After some careless play in the Rotherham United defense, Lewis Nelthorpe kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nicholas Chamberlain. The Rotherham United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nicholas Chamberlain should have stopped the shot. Waltham Cross's Bruce Winstanley was substituted for 曲帆克. Benjamin Paterson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kyle Goodall, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With an all-out effort, Waltham Cross's Nicholas Chamberlain threw himself towards the right post 69 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Emílio Hermes, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 范林宽 received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Nicholas Chamberlain made a fantastic save in the 97th minute, when Lewis Nelthorpe sent off a good shot on target.
