Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The supporters of Culcheth City booed when Stubbington FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcus Carlisle didn't get a good kick on the ball. With his leg Al Buxton managed to avoid a goal in the 4thth minute, when Stubbington FC's Marcus Carlisle fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Dan Phippard hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Greg Seal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lloyd Green in the 7th minute of play. After 9 minutes, Denis Bradfield mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Culcheth City and the Stubbington FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Marcus Carlisle came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Stubbington FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcus Carlisle couldn't finish the play. 11 minutes into the game, Oliver Wroe was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Culcheth City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Stubbington FC the free kick. Oliver Wroe hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. After having played for 14 minutes, Oliver Wroe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Culcheth City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Oliver Wroe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Stubbington FC's Greg Seal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lloyd Green in the 17th minute of play. In the 20th minute, Samuel Sharp hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mitch Huckerby received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Greg Seal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 32 played minutes Stubbington FC got a freekick which was hit by Samuel Sharp. Greg Seal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mitch Huckerby in the 36th minute of the match. Greg Seal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mitch Huckerby, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcus Carlisle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Al Buxton having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lloyd Green in the 46th minute of play forced Stubbington FC's goalkeeper Greg Seal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Culcheth City's Sly Hislop got a free kick in the 48th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Culcheth City's zone, Rod Wardill stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Al Buxton came out of the goal and Rod Wardill tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marcus Carlisle made a kick off. Al Buxton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcus Carlisle in the 55th minute of play. After 57 played minutes, Stubbington FC's Dennis Whitehead shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Al Buxton came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Stubbington FC reached it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lloyd Green in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Greg Seal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 59th minute, Samuel Sharp hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 67th minute Marcus Carlisle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Al Buxton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 68th minute of the match Stubbington FC got a corner. Culcheth City's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Rod Wardill ran over to the corner to take the kick. Sly Hislop thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Al Buxton, a very annoying self made goal in the 69th minute which led to 2-0. With a little luck, Stubbington FC's Greg Seal got control of the ball when Mitch Huckerby tried to sneak it across the goal line. Al Buxton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcus Carlisle in the 78th minute of the match. In the 81st minute, Marcus Carlisle made a precise shot to the right of Al Buxton. Culcheth City's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mike Helks during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Mike Helks hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Bradley Lambert kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. In the 99th play minute Mitch Huckerby came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Greg Seal. 3-1. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Stubbington FC had played much better football throughout.
