That made the score 1-0 in the 5 minute of play. Donny Flintoff took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ash Butterworth, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Philip Clemence made an important save on a dangerous shot by Buster Turner in the 10th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joey Thurman in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Philip Clemence prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 14 minutes, Kristopher Hamilton mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ironville and the Highbury and Islington AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Kristopher Hamilton hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Philip Clemence acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 15th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Adam Darling. Philip Clemence made an important save on a dangerous shot by Buster Turner in the 19th minute. Kristopher Hamilton was shown his second yellow card after 23 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to Ironville getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Kristopher Hamilton hit a great ball. Donny Flintoff didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ash Butterworth went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Rich Stone hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Buster Turner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 35 played minutes Ironville got a freekick which was hit by Sammy Coombe. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rich Stone during the 37th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 37th match minute, Ironville was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rich Stone to maneuver through the defense. Buster Turner received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Philip Clemence tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joey Thurman blasted a shot towards the goal in the 49th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Philip Clemence having to make a save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joey Thurman to strike the kick off in the second half. Samuel Blacknell took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Philip Clemence. Philip Clemence dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. Ironville's Philip Clemence played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samuel Blacknell in the 63rd minute of play. During the 64th minute of the match Tosh Lonsdale completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Tosh Lonsdale a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Tosh Lonsdale hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Philip Clemence showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brandon Barton in the 67th minute of the match. Philip Clemence took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joey Thurman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 72 minutes into the match, Highbury and Islington AFC's Buster Turner sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Philip Clemence narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Highbury and Islington AFC's Joey Thurman in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ironville's goalie prevented a goal. If Buster Turner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 84th minute, Darryl Beswetherick hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Philip Clemence took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Buster Turner, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Kris Knight-Percival fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ironville's protests and gave Kris Knight-Percival a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Buster Turner in the 94th minute of play forced Ironville's goalkeeper Philip Clemence to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 96th minute Joey Thurman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Philip Clemence saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 99 minutes into the match, Highbury and Islington AFC's Joey Thurman sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Philip Clemence narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Highbury and Islington AFC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Ironville had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
