Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Nial Afful started the match with the kick off. The referee felt a red card was in order, 3 minutes into the game, when Johnny Dunning put in a rough tackle. Phil Jackson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pete Farrow read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. 10 minutes into the game, Glyn Newton was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kingswear's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ashes BC the free kick. Glyn Newton kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Tim Ford made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Ted Tyson sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Phil Jackson in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pete Farrow prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 24th match minute, Ashes BC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frazer Bartlett to maneuver through the defense. Theo Fletcher's late challenge caught a Kingswear's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Theo Fletcher helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Ashes BC's Theo Fletcher got a free kick in the 25th minute. In the 27th minute Phil Jackson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pete Farrow saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tim Ford took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Buster Salmon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Buster Salmon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Phil Jackson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kingswear's supporters rose to their feet, but Phil Jackson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pete Farrow breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 38 minutes, Phil Jackson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kingswear's supporters crossed their fingers, but Phil Jackson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 44 played minutes, Ashes BC's Jeff Cryan shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tim Ford came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ashes BC reached it. Tim Ford stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Buster Salmon's shot from short distance in the 46th minute.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Buster Salmon to strike the kick off in the second half. Mitch Weedon hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Buster Salmon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Tim Ford tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Kingswear's zone, Ted Tyson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tim Ford came out of the goal and Ted Tyson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Martyn Parkinson hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. In the 76th minute, Phil Jackson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 78 minutes into the game, Ashes BC's Buster Salmon nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tim Ford made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. With his leg Pete Farrow managed to avoid a goal in the 86thth minute, when Kingswear's Phil Jackson fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Pete Farrow showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mitch Weedon, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. 88 minutes into the match, Ashes BC's goalkeeper Pete Farrow had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Phil Jackson. 90 minutes into the game, Mitch Weedon recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Pete Farrow. Mitch Weedon showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Ashes BC's goalkeeper Pete Farrow, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Martyn Parkinson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
