Spectators: 7367 (Terracing: 5500, Seating: 1718, VIP seats: 149) The audience thought a goal was coming when Kris Holdroyd got free with Pete Farrow in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 4th minute Aaron Conway shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pete Farrow saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sam Moore made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ted Tyson in the 16th minute of play. In the 17th minute of the match Albert Sawyer sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sam Moore skillfully saved the ball. Ted Tyson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Buster Salmon scored 0-1 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sam Moore, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Theo Fletcher hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. In the 26th play minute Pat Cornish came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Pete Farrow. 1-1. Pete Farrow showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aaron Conway in the 31st minute of the match. In the 32nd minute of the match, Pat Cornish got a very nice opportunity to score, but Pete Farrow was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. If Buster Salmon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ted Tyson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sam Moore having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Buster Salmon in the 45th minute of play forced Nantwich Town FC's goalkeeper Sam Moore to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pete Farrow was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Aaron Conway showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 46 minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

In the 53rd minute Pat Cornish suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. After 53 minutes, Theo Fletcher mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ashes BC and the Nantwich Town FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 54th match minute, Ashes BC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Theo Fletcher to maneuver through the defense. Pete Farrow didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Aaron Conway went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Aaron Conway fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pete Farrow having to interfere. Aaron Conway sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sam Moore took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Buster Salmon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kris Holdroyd kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Denzil Blackburn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Pete Farrow tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Buster Salmon in the 96th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sam Moore prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Ashes BC booed when Nantwich Town FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kris Holdroyd didn't get a good kick on the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ashes BC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Nantwich Town FC.
