Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Aaron Conway started the match with the kick off. After 7 played minutes Ashes BC got a freekick which was hit by Mike Green. The supporters of Ashes BC booed when Nantwich Town FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kris Holdroyd didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Buster Salmon in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sam Moore saved Nantwich Town FC from getting behind. Buster Salmon's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 15thth minute, Sam Moore skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When Ashes BC's Buster Salmon in the 20th minute got a chance for a shot 20th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Nantwich Town FC's goalie prevented a goal. Ted Tyson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pete Farrow took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pat Cornish, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 33 minutes into the match, Ashes BC's goal looked a bit too open when Henry Howarth came free, but Pete Farrow reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 36 played minutes Ashes BC got a freekick which was hit by Theo Fletcher. Pat Cornish took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pete Farrow. Pete Farrow dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Ted Tyson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Buster Salmon might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sam Moore. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Buster Salmon ran back to his position shaking his head. Ted Tyson in the 46thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Sam Moore, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After the first half Nantwich Town FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Buster Salmon stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Nantwich Town FC's goal looked a bit too open when Buster Salmon came free, but Sam Moore reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 57th minute of the match Mike Green sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sam Moore skillfully saved the ball. In the 59th minute, Nantwich Town FC's Pat Cornish dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. Pat Cornish scored 0-4 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pete Farrow, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Frazer Bartlett's late challenge caught a Nantwich Town FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Frazer Bartlett helped the player get up and apologised. Frazer Bartlett kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Ashes BC's Pete Farrow played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henry Howarth in the 68th minute of play. In the 70th minute, Pat Cornish left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Nantwich Town FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. After a defensive mix-up in Ashes BC's zone, Aaron Conway stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pete Farrow came out of the goal and Aaron Conway tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ashes BC's Pete Farrow played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henry Howarth in the 77th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Nantwich Town FC's Henry Howarth slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Pete Farrow. That made the score 0-6 after 78 minutes of play. Pete Farrow took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kris Holdroyd, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 82 minutes into the match, Ashes BC's goal looked a bit too open when Aaron Conway came free, but Pete Farrow reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 85th minute, Ashes BC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Pat Cornish fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 86th minute Aaron Conway shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pete Farrow saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frazer Bartlett in the 96th minute of play forced Nantwich Town FC's goalkeeper Sam Moore to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jeff Cryan kicked well hit freekick during the 98th minute of the match. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Nantwich Town FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
