CHELSEA

Seating: 1722, VIP seats: 149) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Allan Charles started the match with the kick off. Allan Charles's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 4thth minute, Kirk Mansell skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 12 minutes into the game, John-Paul Rawlings cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Kris Vassell was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to CHELSEA getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Bradley Knott hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Scott Ackroyd during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 18 played minutes CHELSEA got a freekick which was hit by Scott Ackroyd. 23 minutes into the match, Taverham FC's goalkeeper Kirk Mansell had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Allan Charles. 24 minutes into the game, Ken Hodgson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Taverham FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CHELSEA the free kick. In the 24th minute, Ken Hodgson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Ken Hodgson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Steve Story-Moore kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. 32 minutes into the match, John-Paul Rawlings had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kris Vassell. CHELSEA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that John-Paul Rawlings was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. In the 35th minute, John-Paul Rawlings left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Taverham FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. CHELSEA's Kris Vassell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by John-Paul Rawlings in the 39th minute of play. 42 minutes into the game, Austen Walker was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Taverham FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CHELSEA the free kick. John-Paul Rawlings sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 0-5 became the score in the 47th minute when Austen Walker elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when John-Paul Rawlings stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Kris Vassell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from John-Paul Rawlings, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. John-Paul Rawlings sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Denis Wendon's late challenge caught a Taverham FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Denis Wendon helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Taverham FC booed when CHELSEA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Denis Wendon didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 62nd minute, Ken Hodgson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Allan Charles kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. John-Paul Rawlings received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Kris Vassell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had been going on for 80 minutes, Taverham FC's Shawn Sutton got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Kris Vassell. An unexpectedly hard shot by Allan Charles in the 87th minute of play forced Taverham FC's goalkeeper Kirk Mansell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Allan Charles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Kirk Mansell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Allan Charles in the 93rd minute of play forced Taverham FC's goalkeeper Kirk Mansell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kirk Mansell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lloyd Battersby in the 96th minute of play. If Allan Charles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The CHELSEA supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Taverham FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Taverham FC.
