Kris Vassell was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After a rather tough play, CHELSEA's Bradley Knott got a free kick in the 20th minute. Denis Wendon kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind CHELSEA's goalkeeper Kris Vassell, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 25 minutes into the match, Russ Jenkins notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of CHELSEA's Kris Vassell. Kris Vassell was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ben Clay made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in North Fambridge City's zone, Allan Charles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julian Osborn came out of the goal and Allan Charles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. John Paul Downham kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. In the 60th minute, Stuart Cryan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ben Clay in the 63rd minute of play forced CHELSEA's goalkeeper Kris Vassell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 66 minutes into the game, CHELSEA's Allan Charles nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julian Osborn made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Lloyd Battersby blasted a shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julian Osborn having to make a save. Julian Osborn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kris Vassell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ben Clay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lloyd Battersby sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julian Osborn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Allan Charles in the 82nd minute of play. In the 84th minute, Ben Clay reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Kris Vassell. The goal made the score 2-3. Ben Clay's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kris Vassell read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. When Rufus Hinshelwood fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored North Fambridge City's protests and gave Rufus Hinshelwood a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched North Fambridge City eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
