The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Lloyd Battersby notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Fakenham City's Duncan Moxon. Duncan Moxon was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Fakenham City getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Austen Crouch hit a great ball. In the 9th minute, CHELSEA's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Eric Kerr fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Austen Crouch managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fakenham City's supporters rose to their feet, but Austen Crouch was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kris Vassell breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Austen Crouch's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kris Vassell read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. Austen Crouch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kris Vassell having to interfere. Eric Kerr in the 21stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Kris Vassell, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The supporters of Fakenham City booed when CHELSEA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bradley Knott didn't get a good kick on the ball. Allan Charles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duncan Moxon having to interfere. 39 minutes into the match, CHELSEA's Allan Charles sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Duncan Moxon narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 41st match minute, Fakenham City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tosh Wilmott to maneuver through the defense. It was beautiful to see CHELSEA's Stuart Cryan in action when he in the 43rd minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! In the 48th minute Allan Charles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Duncan Moxon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Allan Charles stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, CHELSEA's Lloyd Battersby sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Duncan Moxon narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Allan Charles who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 55thth minute tested the skills of Duncan Moxon when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Allan Charles got free with Duncan Moxon in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 60th match minute, CHELSEA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bradley Knott to maneuver through the defense. Eric Kerr recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 75th match minute, Fakenham City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Austen Crouch to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot by Leroy Gulliver from long distance, 76 minutes into the match, got Duncan Moxon's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. If Allan Charles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Fakenham City's Den Hay got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Kris Vassell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Austen Crouch in the 86th minute of the match. CHELSEA's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
