Spectators: 6732 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1732, VIP seats: 0) Tod Dickens started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Bolton Wanderers's Marty Leadbeater played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martin Ward in the 2nd minute of play. If Tod Dickens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reggie Younger in the 8th minute of play forced Staines's goalkeeper Nicky Tyson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 10 minutes, Tod Dickens managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bolton Wanderers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tod Dickens was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nicky Tyson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tod Dickens in the 12th minute of the match. The supporters of Bolton Wanderers booed when Staines was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sammy Brighton didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 14thth minute of the game Reggie Younger who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Staines's Nicky Tyson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Reggie Younger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nicky Tyson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tod Dickens in the 19th minute of play. Marty Leadbeater made an important save on a dangerous shot by Stan Kaye in the 22nd minute. In the 25th minute of the match Owen Archer sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nicky Tyson skillfully saved the ball. Nicky Tyson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reggie Younger in the 30th minute of play. Tod Dickens took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nicky Tyson. Nicky Tyson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 41st match minute, Bolton Wanderers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bob Cuss to maneuver through the defense. 43 minutes into the game, Tod Dickens cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Nicky Tyson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 46th minute, Bob Cuss hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Martin Ward in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marty Leadbeater prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Reggie Younger was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 53rd minute. Bolton Wanderers's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After a rather tough play, Staines's Tyrone Johnstone got a free kick in the 56th minute. Tod Dickens struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Nicky Tyson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bolton Wanderers. Reggie Younger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Nicky Tyson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marty Leadbeater showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martin Ward, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Bolton Wanderers's Reggie Younger got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Staines's defense didn't have a chance, in the 72nd minute, when Tod Dickens scored to the left of an out of position Nicky Tyson, making the score, 0-3. With a little luck, Staines's Nicky Tyson got control of the ball when Reggie Younger tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nicky Tyson was a little too slow when Tod Dickens got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 81st minute. The score was now 0-4. When Tod Dickens came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Bolton Wanderers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tod Dickens couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Staines's Nicky Tyson got control of the ball when Reggie Younger tried to sneak it across the goal line. 87 minutes into the match, Tod Dickens dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Nicky Tyson, 0-5. The supporters of Staines booed when Bolton Wanderers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Devon Nelson didn't get a good kick on the ball. 95 minutes into the match, Staines's Martin Ward sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marty Leadbeater narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Bolton Wanderers played a much better game than Staines and deserved their victory. The Staines players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
