Christopher Butler kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Gary Louiss short, quick shot in the 8thth minute got Stevie Holt to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Rowan Winfield received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Gareth Blake tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 14 minutes into the game, Nicky Nethercott cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Gareth Blake was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Gary Louis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Doncaster City FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gary Louis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stevie Holt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 26 minutes into the match, King Of The North's goal looked a bit too open when Kelvin Bridgeworth came free, but Stevie Holt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rowan Winfield blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gareth Blake having to make a save. After 30 played minutes Doncaster City FC got a freekick which was hit by Liam Joynes. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Doncaster City FC's goalkeeper Gareth Blake, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 34th minute of the game. One of King Of The North:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Doncaster City FC:s goal. When the match had been going on for 36 minutes, Doncaster City FC's Jo Rayner got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Stevie Holt. In the 42nd minute, Donny Henderson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kelvin Bridgeworth recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The audience was convinced that Kelvin Bridgeworth's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Stevie Holt was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Nicky Nethercott managed to get in a good position for a shot. King Of The North's supporters rose to their feet, but Nicky Nethercott was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gareth Blake breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 70 minutes into the match, King Of The North's Nicky Nethercott sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gareth Blake narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Nicky Nethercott sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Liam Joynes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Stevie Holt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 82nd minute, Kelvin Bridgeworth ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Stevie Holt was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Kelvin Bridgeworth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stevie Holt having to interfere. The supporters of Doncaster City FC booed when King Of The North was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wesley Sutcliffe didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Gary Louis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 90 minutes, Rob Boxall mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the King Of The North and the Doncaster City FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 90th match minute, King Of The North was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rob Boxall to maneuver through the defense. 95 minutes into the game, Donny Henderson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Doncaster City FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave King Of The North the free kick. Donny Henderson kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the King Of The North players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Doncaster City FC.
