The audience was convinced that George Frost's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dale Jewson was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. Tod Coombe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adrian Nethercoat, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tod Coombe didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Adrian Nethercoat went, in the 7th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. After 21 minutes of play, Burnham on Sea City's Trey Church made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dale Jewson was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 28 played minutes Adrian Nethercoat rounded Burnham on Sea City's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-1. Rackenford's John Paul Clough got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Adrian Nethercoat struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Tod Coombe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rackenford. After a rather tough play, Rackenford's Garry Ely got a free kick in the 38th minute. In the 41st match minute, Rackenford was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adrian Nethercoat to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

58 minutes into the match, Rackenford's goalkeeper Dale Jewson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by George Frost. George Frost sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 65th match minute, Burnham on Sea City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bart Sledge to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Burnham on Sea City's zone, Adrian Nethercoat stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tod Coombe came out of the goal and Adrian Nethercoat tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 72nd minute of the match, Trey Church tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Dale Jewson saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Trey Church's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dale Jewson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. Trey Church fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dale Jewson having to interfere. George Frost sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rackenford's Dale Jewson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Rackenford from getting a goal against them. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rackenford's goalkeeper Dale Jewson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Rackenford booed when Burnham on Sea City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bobby Wall didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adrian Nethercoat sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Trey Church in the 97th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dale Jewson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rackenford's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
